What is Escalope:

Escalope is a French term that refers to a thin slice of meat, typically veal, chicken, Beef or pork, that has been pounded or flattened to make it tender and easy to cook. 

It is usually coated in flour, egg, and breadcrumbs before being fried or sautéed in butter or oil until golden brown and crispy. 

Escalope can be served as a main dish with a side of vegetables or salad or used as a topping for pasta or pizza.

How to Prepare Chicken Escape

Ingredients:

- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 2 teaspoons garlic powder

- 2 teaspoons onion powder

- 1 teaspoon paprika

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

- 2 eggs, beaten

- 2 tablespoons milk

- 2 cups breadcrumbs

- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

- 4 tablespoons olive oil


Instructions:


1. Place chicken breasts each between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound to an even thickness of about 1/4 inch.


2. On a shallow dish, mix together flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper. 


3. In another shallow dish, beat eggs with milk. 


4. In a third shallow dish, mix together breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese and parsley. 


5. Dip each chicken breast in the flour mixture, shaking off the excess. 


6. Next, dip the chicken in the egg mixture, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the breadcrumb mixture onto the chicken to make sure it adheres. 


7. In a large frying pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. 


8. Fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. 


9. Drain the chicken on a paper towel-lined plate. 


10. Serve hot with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables or salad.
